Grade 1 - Science

We cannot deny the fact that children are born scientists. In grade 1 all children love science as a subject since it unveils the mysteries of the world around them.

Broad objectives of teaching Science in grade 1 include

• Distinguish between the states of matter and how they can change

• Ask scientific questions, observe using their senses, create a hypothesis, conclude, share data

• Distinguish between living and nonliving things

• Understand the water cycle, weather patterns, and seasons

• Identify the different parts and functions of plants

• Classify animals and the different habitats they live in
